Sky Scrapers

Sitting next to the river on a busy street, I get consumed with the overwhelming noise of the day. In a moment that feels as if scripted, my eye catches the picture painted on the water. The reflection of grand buildings reaching up to the heavens. For a second, I am dwarfed by their size, and I tell myself that I will never be such a great man that can conceive these giant structures. But as I gaze up in thought, I remember that even the largest of buildings were all built the same: one brick at a time. This gives me comfort as I am part of something bigger, and hopefully something that someone somewhere will also gaze upon in the rippled reflection of time.
