Show me the light - Winter

This limited edition watercolour paintings depicts the interdependence between man and plant. This grassland Bushman Bulb plant or Century plant (bophoone disticha) is used by the bushman for medicinal purposes. Like man, the plant also has a distinguished cycle of life. During Autumn the plant dies - losing its fan-like leaves and going into Winter the plant has soft scales protecting the bulb. While in Spring it has pink fingery-like flowers blooming into summer with a reddish single umbel with grey-green ribbon leaves.
