Reflection in the Sky

The first six months of the year brought a difficult and deeply emotional season for my family. Day after day, for an hour at a time, I found myself sitting in a doctor’s room — waiting, hoping, reflecting and simply taking one day at a time.

On the final day of therapy, as I stepped outside, I was greeted by a breathtaking winter sunset. The sky seemed to hold the colours and emotions of everything that had come before it — the uncertainty, the waiting, the fear, but also the strength and gratitude that carried us through.

I stood there and reflected on the journey. The sunset became more than just a beautiful moment; it became a reminder that even after difficult seasons, there can be light, colour and hope.

Reflection in the Sky is my visual reflection of that season — a reminder that sometimes we only recognise the beauty of the light when we have travelled through the darkness.
