Old but not Forgotten

Annette picked this flower after flowering time. When it was young, it was so bright and perfect – the Bird of Paradise – everyone photographs it. But I did not pick it then. I picked it now when the colour has turned brown, the petals are dry, and it looks more like a bird that has landed than one about to take off.

Like life, when it was young, it was bright and full of colour. Now it is various shades of brown, colorful but subdued, but not forgotten. Just like life. We reflect on life’s ups and downs as we grow older.
