“In this piece, I wanted to capture the essence of the Namaqualand daisy, a flower that transforms an otherwise arid landscape into a sea of colour. The stone represents the earth – harsh, solid, and unyielding – yet it is the source of life. From it, the daisy grows, delicate but resilient, a reminder of nature’s strength and grace. The wire speaks to human presence: the fences that carve up the land, the boundaries we impose on nature. By combining these elements, I aim to explore the tension between fragility and endurance, nature and man-made constraints, and how beauty persists despite limitations.”Top of Form
