Looking Within

This painting explores “ Reflections”  through the striking image if a giraffe bending down to drink from a still pool of water.  The physical reflection creates a near mirror image, but the distorted surface of the water transforms the giraffe into something more fragmented and mysterious. 

The contrast between the giraffe’s elegant, elongated form above the water and its broken, fluid reflection below suggests two versions of the same reality - what we see on the surface and what lies beneath it. The reflection becomes less precise as it enters the rippling water, reminding us that perception in never entirely fixed.
