Eiland in 'n woud (Island in the Forest)

The artist is submitting this work as a celebration of our local (South African) flowers. The excellent performance of our South African team, led by Leon Kluge, at the HRS Chelsea, London. The team exhibited the glorious flowers and received  a golden medal as best flower arrangement.

 Inspired by the beautiful flowers in our country the artist explored floral or botanical techniques to enter the area of abstract art. A variety of layers was played down in acrylic paint and the essence of image is highlighted with oil paint. The transitional tension in is clear in the artist clinging to some realism in her imaging.
